I don’t know why, but these two ideas seem to be at odds with each other: money and ministry.
If you make too much money, or have nice material possessions, you’re probably not serving Jesus. If you are voluntarily poor and minimalist, you’re probably living the Gospel.
At least that’s what we perceive.
It’s a tension we don’t bring up often. But it’s a conversation I want to have with you.
And I apologize up front: this post is longer than usual. But I guarantee you it’ll be worth it.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t consider myself very creative. When I listen to another songwriter, I think “Why didn’t I think of that?” When I hear a great band I get depressed, wondering, “I have no idea how to do that.”
But you can increase your creativity. Creativity isn’t a gift you’re born with – it’s a discipline you cultivate.

Do you know how many ideas there are in the world? Too many to count.
What we’re missing is people with the courage to act. More than we need your brilliant ideas, we need your resilience to make them happen.
If there’s anything I know about you, it’s that you want to change the world.
You probably didn’t wake up saying, “How can I live the most mediocre life possible?”
You want to make a difference, pour your life into a cause, and leave your mark upon the world.
The problem is that most of us never do.
Do you know who your enemy is?
The enemy to your creative projects isn’t lack of talent, passion, or skill.
It’s giving up. The only way to truly fail at any creative project is to give up.
