Interview with Andrew Ehrenzeller

The most refreshing album I have listened to in quite a while has been Andrew Ehrenzeller’s Beauty is What Remains. His music reminds me of a cross between Jason Upton, Dave Matthews, Steven Curtis Chapman, and the International House of Prayer.

I’ve been refreshed with every listen and I honestly can’t put it down. Andrew’s music is prophetic, intimate, and powerful. His voice alone demands your attention. I really believe this album needs to be heard. It’s that good.

Andrew was gracious enough to do an interview with me during a ministry trip to Norway.Β This was my first time recording a Skype interview, so I apologize for the low quality πŸ™‚

      Dave,

I love to find new worship. And I love when you lead worship. You are so passionate. Love it. If you love this CD then there is a very good chance that I will too.

Keep drawing people into HIS presence.

      Peter

Music always commemorates the seasons. Can somebody say Caedmon’s Call Back Home?

i would love to have all 5 of the cd’s you’re giving away, so i can keep one, send one to the local Radio station, and give the others to friends as gifts. this album is nothing short of amazing- in lyrical concept, musical composition, vocal ability, and spiritual insight, i would put this CD in my truck, and go for an hour long drive on the highway blasting it singing at the top of my lungs. (hopefully i’m not the only one who does that?)

      • David Santistevan says

        March 9, 2011 at 7:46 pm

Agreed. I wish I could give you 5!

Well DJ David, you are batting a thousand this year in my book. I checked it out on itunes because I was intrigued by your description, very accurate. I have forgiven you for not telling me about Elevation Worship, but this Cd would help ease the pain. (I know it’s my fault for not reading your blog often enough.) The main reason I should win is that I WILL sing it at the top of my lungs with the windows down this spring! I’m not afraid to be THAT guy!

I want a CD because I really enjoyed what I’ve heard and you can never be steered from by a David Santistevan recommendation. Also, I’m a poor graduate student so I don’t have money to buy all the music I want.

PICK ME! PICK ME! Dave. You should send 1 of these CDs to MN so as to spread the love across the country. I promise to tell my friends about it! Plus. We are working on starting young adults services at my home church….and we could use some awesome new worship music/inspiration. πŸ™‚ And, pretty please with a cherry on top? Going to tweet about it now…

I would LOVE to have a copy of this CD, and be given the opportunity to wear it out. I have already listened to it in its entirety, and already have 3 favorites. I can either win it or buy it, but either way, I hope to obtain a copy very soon.

This CD not only stirs me, it awakens me as a worshipper and intercessor.

    16. Nikki says

      March 10, 2011 at 6:47 pm

Hey, I am a worship leader as well and actually was given this cd by a friend in the orlando area. I put it in while I rocked my baby girl to sleep and was surprised at how actually MUSICAL it is. after I looked up Andrew on facebook, I wasn’t surprised that he has a degree in musical theory. I am by no means a musical theory expert but have enough of it to LOVE the 5/8 song “Light” on the album. It was different than what I have constantly in my house, which is IHOP, it is radio worthy and yet underground sounding at the same time. There is a good balance to reach those new believers as well as those who are really desperate and searching to go deeper in God. Love it!

So true, Nikki! You can sense the musical maturity in the songwriting as well as in the band. I love that. I’m impressed that you noticed the 5/8 time signature πŸ™‚ You must be a musician yourself?

Some tough competition I see. Well, I still have the Aftermath, Bethel Live, and that church from Florida on the way. The first two are incredible, and the third sounded great on the site. Maybe I will get itunes gift cards for my birthday next week and “win” Andrew’s CD that way. HA!
