A few months ago, I sat down with our youth staff to teach a session on social media.
One of the underlying assumptions about me was that I was on Twitter all day long. I don’t tweet as much as a lot of people, but in my particular circles, I’m probably the most avid tweeter.
The truth is, I’m not on Twitter all day. Matter of fact, I hardly check Twitter, other than once in the morning, occasionally midday, and again at night. Thanks to some amazing social media tools, I don’t have to lose my life to social media.
Here are those tools:

Question: What social media tools could you not live without? Let us know in the comments!
Buffer and Tweetdeck are two tools that I use quite a bit.
I used to use Tweetdeck but Hootsuite outperforms it in my opinion.
timely.is is by far my one that I rely on the most.
I’ve never used timely.is. How does it work?
Very helpful list. I hadn’t heard of Buffer or ifttt before so thanks for the heads up. Scheduling updates is something that will be helpful for me indeed.
Scheduling has changed my life. I used to be skeptical, but now I can’t function without it!
Agreed!
Have been loving Hootesuite and Google Reader (although some of my peers rave about Reeder). Also just signed up for Bufferapp.
Others of worthy mention are:
Evernote, Tweetbot 🙂
I’ve blogged about Evernote so much I had to leave it out this time 🙂
