29 Reasons Why I’d Volunteer On Your Worship Team

Looking to attract more volunteers while strengthening the team you have? Sometimes all it takes is a little intentionality and evaluation of what you are doing as a leader.

Here’s why I would volunteer on your worship team:

1. You’re organized

2. You’re love for Jesus is evident

3. You stay on the cutting edge of worship music

4. I learn something new every time I’m in your band

5. You respect me

6. You have a compelling vision

7. You foster a community of great musicians

8. You have a discipleship strategy

9. You show up early

10. Your worship team does outreach

11. You own your pastor’s vision as your own

12. You regularly quote and teach the Word of God

13. You’re a voracious learner

14. You know what you’re talking about

15. You surround yourself with people who are better than you

16. You don’t take yourself too seriously and can laugh at yourself

17. You have fun with your team

18. I feel like a million bucks when I’m around you

19. You empower me to be better

20. You are led by the Holy Spirit

21. You know how to navigate mistakes on the spot

22. You rock hard…but worship harder (thanks Brad)

23. You foster an atmosphere of unity

24. You lead productive rehearsals

25. You create a fun, disciplined culture on your team

26. You pay attention to musical details like an arranger/producer

27. You confront bad attitudes

28. You worship God with abandon

29. You’re always improving your leadership

What do you mean by “You stay on the cutting edge of worship music”?

I simply mean your music selection is “up to date” and you know what is currently out there.

What do you do to confront bad attitudes in the band? I have been having some problems with this recently…especially this vision of the band. All of the band except for one individual wants it to go in a different direction. And it is really bringing the whole band down from doing what God wants us to do… just asking for some advice on this! 🙂

I would confront him aside from rehearsal one on one first. If he won’t cooperate you may need to bring in a pastor for some help. Are you the leader?

Yes… I am the leader of it. Thanks for the advice. I will be sure to keep you posted! You site has helped me deal with these things a lot! 🙂
