#55: Steffany Gretzinger On God’s Presence, Leading Yourself in Worship, & The New Album [Podcast]

hero-mobileWorship isn’t a job. It’s not a skill, a craft, or a career.

Worship is a life in pursuit of Jesus. And that’s what I talked about with Steffany Gretzinger from Bethel Music.

Steffany is an incredible artist, songwriter, and worshiper who has just released her first album, The Undoing.

What I love about Steffany is how she is completely dialed in to the heart of her music. It’s not just about the business. She loves Jesus and wants others to experience his presence.

Don’t miss our conversation!

Scripture of the Week

Psalm 55: 16-19, 22

“But I call to God, and the Lord will save me.
Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan, and he hears my voice.
He redeems my soul in safety from the battle that I wage, for many are arrayed against me.
God will give ear and humble them, he who is enthroned from of old, because they do not change and do not fear God.
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”

Tweetable Quotes

  • Don’t run with the message God gave you and leave Him behind (Tweet that).
  • Don’t be so insistent on getting where you’re going. Be where you are (Tweet that).
  • When people see a worship leader who’s life is laid down, they will follow (Tweet that).
  • All of life is the undoing, until you’re face to face you’ll be completely undone (Tweet that).

What about if we are worshipers in the congregation. I like to act like you said you do in your room but I am not in a place to be able to do it in the church I am in. I guess I will wait till God gives me the church life that I can be free to worship with complete abandonment, right?

There is something contagious in Steffany’s affections for God. Listening to her speak about even the mundane things in life makes you feel that she is a daughter who knows what it means to abide in Jesus. I’ve been so encouraged and inspired by this interview, to live life with authenticity, to pursue the presence of God and not let anything get in the way of that. Thank you so much for sharing! Will leave a rating on iTunes.

I love the interview. The first time I heard one of her song on DAYSTAR , NO LONGER SLAVE TO FEAR , I start searching for her name, then I heard more of her songs and now I can’t stop listening to her.Her songs has touch my heart so deeply I go to bed singing and I wake up in the morning singing her songs. Her voice behind the songs, the way she prophesy when she is singing has brought tears to my eyes so many times. She is one of Gods special child and I believe she is not only going to sing for God but also she is going to evangelize to others for him. Love you Steffany, I already bought my album. hope you visit Puerto Rico some day. God bless you and all the Bethel worshippers. love the music.
