Most people do two things when it comes to social media: waste time and react.
OK, that was a bit harsh and over-simplified (who do I think I am?). Sure, some good, fun connections are made. And maybe that’s all you want to use social media for. But I believe there is so much potential for people to make a difference.
It’s one of my passions to see you use social media for your goals – to be purposeful with your online presence and make something happen.

How many of you work with volunteers in your church? OK, ok, you can put your hands down.
How many of you wish volunteers would stay longer? Wow, OK.
Volunteer transition is part of the flow of the local church. Adjust your expectations to embrace that. However, creating systems and values that help your volunteers feel valued will go a long way to creating an unforgettable experience for them.
Ever since I released my first independent worship album I’ve been asked a lot of questions on how I created it, how much it cost, what first steps I took, etc. I think when someone takes action on their dream rather than just, well, dreaming about it, it inspires people.
And that’s what I want you to do. It’s time to stop dreaming about your dreams and start taking some action.
While social media can be a distraction in more ways than one, I think every worship leader should use it.
Not just as a time-waster, but as a way to improve your role as a worship leader in the local church.
