More modern music, more hymns, new stage design, adding a click track. Truth is, change needs to happen. Successful people change. They evaluate what isn’t working and try something new.
Successful organizations change. If you’re stuck in the past, you won’t continue to be effective.
In the same way, worship teams need to change. But there’s a way to change that will either empower your team or infuriate your team.
When we think “worship leader” we assume a guitar, microphone, stage, songs, band, skinny jeans, and big hair.
Truth be told: worship leaders don’t learn how to lead from the stage. They learn how to lead by their lifestyles.
It’s all about heart way before the craft.
Corporate worship is important, but leading out of your lifestyle is supreme.
Here are some “out of the ordinary” ways you can lead worship:
There’s something you’ve been thinking about doing that you haven’t done yet.
You’ve been procrastinating.
We’ve heard the excuses – you’re too busy, you’re too uninformed, you’re not skilled enough yet, you need to gather more facts.
I’m not buying it.
It’s time to do it.
Leaders create culture. Leaders set the tone for the room. Leaders determine atmosphere.
The question is not whether your create culture or not. The question is, “What culture are you creating?”
Do you feel that you can never quite focus throughout your day?
Always feel like work piles on as you react to what everyone wants you to do?
