I love to raise people up. It thrills me to see young people go from scared, self-doubters to passionate worship leaders. It’s my favorite part of what I do.
What about you?
At the end of your life, will you stand alone with your accolades or will you have others beside you – world changers you’ve discipled?
There’s no better feeling than knowing you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing. Mission. Vision. Purpose.
Yet how many of us actually feel that way? As I converse with most of my peers, it’s obvious that we are a dissatisfied generation. We have a job but we hate it. We have a paycheck but it’s not enough.
We’re alive and breathing but we’re longing for something different – somewhere better than where we are.
I like asking myself questions – to evaluate my life and make sure I’m being faithful to the call of God.
In a couple previous posts I’ve talked about 10 Questions Every Worship Leader Should Ask and 11 Questions Every Worship Team Member Should Ask.
But what about the average church-goer? What about those with no musical inclination or leadership position?
Do they have a responsibility?
Am I what?
I know, this topic is a bit of a diversion from the usual worship leader fare.
Or is it?
What person on planet earth doesn’t struggle with sexual temptation? Matter of fact, as worship leaders we need to especially guard ourselves in this area.
We’re on a stage. Emotions are high. It’s easy to become emotionally connected to someone who is not your spouse.
After the demands of ministry are over, it’s easy to let our guard down – to look and lust and lie. Nobody’s watching right?
Don’t you hate the feeling when nobody worships?
You pour yourself – all your time, passion, and purpose – into leading worship. But the congregation just stares at you. They don’t get it.
You are frustrated.
They seem frustrated.
What can be done?
