I got my first guitar when I was 16. My dad bought it for me for $100. I played it through an 8-inch Gorilla amp. It was an electric, Fender Stratocaster knock-off.
A few months later, I quit.
So how did I end up on the road, playing music professionally with a group, years later? I picked that guitar back up. But the journey for getting there was arduous.
Whether you are a creative staff member or a lead pastor, it helps to have some understanding as to how each other thinks.

Fulfilling their vision is part of your God-ordained role.

If you’ve served in worship ministry for longer than one Sunday, you’ll recognize that tension is part of the game.
David has done a great job of outlining some of these tensions and giving a really healthy perspective in this series. For some of you, these tensions will not apply. For others of you, you are feeling like the focus of your role is about making sure some of these tensions don’t become disagreements.
Ever been in situations where things didn’t go as planned? Volunteers didn’t show up. Band train wrecked. Your team just doesn’t seem to “get it”?
Well, I’m just gonna say it.
