Today we have the privilege of hearing from a new friend of mine, Matthew Reed. Matt has recently released an indie worship record on his own.
I thought it would be beneficial to hear how he did it.
When was the last time your mind went blank?
Nothing to say, nothing to write about.
You fire up your blog and stare at the screen for what seems like eternities on end.
All bloggers face this one time or another. Rather than continuing to bang your head on the table, there’s always something you can do.
You can’t escape it.
You’ll never get so good that you evade it.
You might as well accept it, embrace it, and learn to harness it.
What am I talking about?

- Reduce to fine particles.
- Defeat utterly.
Every time I sit down to write, I hear voices.
Whether it’s a blog post, a song, or a sermon, these voices stand in my way.
Before you label me crazy, close out my blog, and ignore me, let me explain.
The person with the greatest talent doesn’t win every time.
The one with the most experience isn’t always the best.
He who dies with the most skill still dies.
That last one didn’t really make sense, but there’s a dynamic to engaging performance that sets some apart from the rest – and those who discover it…excel.
