#25: Living A Jesus Centered Life: An Interview With Evan Wickham [Podcast]

photo-mainIt’s scary how life and ministry can be about a lot of things – but we can miss the person of Jesus.

In our busyness to do His work, we can lose sight of his very real presence in our communities.

Today I talk with Evan Wickham about this and a whole lot more. Evan is a fantastic songwriter, worship leader, and pastor in the Portland area.

Don’t miss his new record, Make Us One, and the interview here:

#24: How To Communicate With More Effectiveness On Stage [Podcast]

If a complete stranger approached you and invited you on a road trip, would you follow?

A little weird, right? If you don’t trust someone, you don’t go on a journey with them.

It’s the same with worship leading. If you’re not building trust with the people you lead, they’re not going to follow you. A massive part of building that trust is learning to communicate well.

#22: Creativity and Christmas Music: An Interview with Future of Forestry [Podcast]

Future-of-Forestry-Advent-3-Cover-288x264On occasion, I like to recommend music that I love. Future of Forestry is one of those bands I would consider in my top 5 favorites.

It was such an honor to chat with Eric Owyoung, the mastermind behind the band. We discuss a lot regarding music and the creative process.

My main goal was just to pull back the curtain and hear about Eric’s process of creating these emotional, epic soundscapes.

Take a listen. You just might be inspired and get some ideas for the music you create!

#21: Worship Through Pain & Suffering: An Interview With Bobby Gilles [Podcast]

songinnight029-300x300It’s one thing to worship God on a stage with great music.

But what happens pain and suffering rocks your world? It’s these situations that test our worship at its core.

It was such an honor to have a conversation with Bobby Gilles. Bobby and his wife Kristen are songwriters with Sojourn music and leaders there in the Sojourn church community.

Our conversation went in a lot of different directions that you don’t want to miss. We discussed the power of articulating your testimony, creating worship team culture, having more than enough musicians, and how to worship through pain & suffering. We even talked about parenting and the father’s pastoral role in the home.
