Corporate Worship Values: What Unites Us

For the last two and a half years, I’ve had the privilege of visiting dozens of churches across the US. Mega churches, house churches, charismatic to methodist and everything in between.

Some of these I’ve led worship in, some I’ve consulted, and some I’ve attended. These churches look very different, every one possessing its own unique identity. However, we have more in common than you may think.

When it comes to corporate worship, we’re after the same thing. Here are some values I’ve noticed that most evangelical churches are looking for. Is yours?

Church planting is not for the faint of heart. I’m always inspired by the ones who head into a difficult area with the light of the Gospel and build from the ground up.

Luke Hellebronth is the Worship Pastor at Gass Street Church, where Tim Hughes is the Lead Pastor. They are taking worship to the streets and making disciples in a very post Christian area.

We talk church planting, creativity, excellence (or not?), songwriting, recruiting, and more.

#225: Charlie Hall on Worship, Spiritual Disciplines, & Disciple Making [Podcast]

One of the worship leaders who’s had the most impact on me is Charlie Hall. I can think back to specific seasons of my life where Charlie’s music brought me through. Before I ever led worship or considered leading worship, Charlie’s early Passion records taught me so much about creativity, musicality, and how to lead people.
